Update from Dawne Archer who is trekking over 100 kms in the Sahara Desert in Morocco for Lifeblood:The Thrombosis Charity
This is me in the photo! At the end of a hectic training week. My trekking buddy (Sarah who is walking for Breakthrough Breast Cancer) and I spent several days walking the highways and byways of sunny Mallorca. We are fully committed to the trek – it is paid for (out of our own pockets) and in less than 6 weeks we will be there! So we needed to get together and discuss all the pesky details that interest no one else and compare walking speeds, fitness etc. We spent time walking beautiful lanes in high temperatures. Finally we could put it off no longer – off to the beach to accustom ourselves to desert conditions. The day this photo was taken it was 35 degrees and everyone else was almost naked….we were suited and booted, complete with daft hats! Sand walking is hard work!! Updates regularly appear on my webpage at www.justgiving.com/trekkergirl so take a look and find out how I am fundraising, how much has come in so far and add to the donations. Every penny goes directly to Lifeblood.
